Fall Favorites

I’ll be honest. I’m done with summer. I’m ready for cozy clothes, pumpkin spiced bullshit and boots. I’m sooo ready for boots right now. My wardrobe is completely void of fall clothes right now and I am in desperate need of a shopping trip. I like to go shopping with a list so that I don’t go too crazy and end up with at least the fundamentals. With this in mind, here are the eight necessities on my shopping list.

1 // August Hats – Marley Marled Newsboy Hat

As I mentioned before, I am completely obsessed with the styles of the early 2000s right now and so a Britney-inspired newsboy cap is definitely something I want to wear this Fall (even if my friends and boyfriend have told me that it is extremely geeky). This grey plaid version will look totes adorbs with a chunky sweater and ripped jeans or a sweet blouse and suede skirt.

2 // Crazy Women’s High Waisted Skinny Leather Biker Trousers

I have more than enough plain black pants and I love this edgy leather update. It’s sexy yet polished and will be more than warm enough for Vancouver’s chilly fall days. And with a pair of spike-heeled boots? Money.

3 // SheIn – Off The Shoulder Cross Wrap Sweater in Grey

Taking the off-the-shoulder trend one step further, this wrapped sweater is sophisticated and super flattering (it camouflages a food baby like nothing else). I fully intend to snap this bad boy up in a handful of different colours. This wrapped sweater is going to be on constant rotation in my wardrobe this season.

4 // Soaked In Luxury – Suede A-Line Skirt

Suede is the perfect fabric for fall. It’s rustic appearance mimics the colours and textures of autumn. It’s a throwback to the 70s (an era that is huge in fashion right now) but is still completely modern. It’s exactly what I want to wear to the flea market with chunky socks, leather lace-up boots, and a floral chiffon blouse.

5 // Hollister – Textured Boyfriend Cardigan

The boyfriend cardigan is a fall staple without question. It’s one of those pieces that you can throw on while running out of the house with a cup of coffee in hand. It’s just the right amount of dishevelled. Throw it on with a pair of boyfriend jeans and a plain white tee and you’re good to go.

6 // Byredo Parfums – Tree House Candle

My addiction to candles is out of control and I already have a few favorites (my Gastown candle from Vancouver Candle Co and the Speak Easy Candle from Modern Alchemy) but this woodsy beauty from Byredo Parfums is one that I am definitely going to have to add to my collection. With notes of sandalwood, cedar, and bamboo, this candle is reminiscent of crisp coniferous trees and sweet smelling fallen leaves – all of the best smells of fall.

7 // Henri Bendel – West 57th Backpack

I’m sick and tired of lugging around my purse and laptop bag but I am not the kind of girl to carry a canvas backpack around as if I’ve just come back from a hiking trip. This sleek leather version from Henri Bendel is polished and chic. I also love leather backpacks in maroon and tan, but you can’t go wrong with classic black. For the first time since the 7th grade I have been proud to carry a backpack.

8 // Cherish – Block Heel Suede Ankle Booties in Grey

Because at the end of the day, it’s really all about the bootie. These slouchy suede beauties from Cherish are a bit high but the chunky heel balances them out. I love black boots and most of my boots are black but the grey is refreshing change. The suede is probably not the wisest choice to wear in Raincouver, but I honestly can’t resist. The little bow adds just a touch of femininity without being overly girly.
